A Typical layout of a Directory structure.

Below you can see i have added a folder called parent folder and a sub folder.

If i have a file called "file.txt" in the sub folder which stems off the parent folder which is also on C Drive.

This is how i would see the file.

C:\parent Folder\Sub Folder\file.txt

I hope you understand the line above, basically the file called "file.txt"

is in a folder called Sub Folder which is in the parent folder on drive C

As you can see the parent folder is the first folder off the drive Maindisk (C:)

The Sub folder stems off the Parent Folder
